We Are Dancing | 2012

We Are Dancing explores how body imagery is transferred, edited and represented through digital formats such as videos and photographs. Collaborating with identical twins Hsiao-Wei Hsieh and Hsiao-Ting Hsieh, I create works that mimic duplication and cast doubt on the viewer’s observations. Through documentation of the Hsieh sisters’ performance titled 1949, I retrieve their individuality by means of digital media. I rearrange and edit selected photographs to create parallel and juxtaposed relationships between the two individuals in virtual space as well as in real life.
