This monumental sculpture made of black vinyl tubing symbolizes and enlarges my ethnically representative long black hair, as well as the query and rejection of my original identity while struggling to adapt to a foreign environment. The sculpture, braided through physical effort, embodies a gesture of rebellion to occupy and release its energy through its own clumsy yet firm statement.
